Taita hills wildlife sanctuary is a biodiversity hotspot nestled in southern Kenya. The sanctuary was established in 1970 and covers an area of 110 square kilometers (28,000) acres. How to get to Taita hills
Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is accessible by both road and air transport means. Take the Mombasa-Nairobi highway and turn to Taveta road for about 300 kilometers taking a 4-5 drive. Travelers from Mombasa can also reach the sanctuary which is about 125 taking approximately 2-3 hours drive. For those opting to fly, the nearest airport is Taveta Airport, which offers limited charter flights. As well, visitors can fly to Mombasa or Nairobi and then arrange for ground transportation to the sanctuary.

Like any other conservation Area, Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary has rules to protect its environment for generations and ensure a safe experience for all visitors, the rules in place includes;
- No off-track driving, every visitor on a game drive or walking safaris is advised to use designated tracks to minimise environment effects.
- Do not feed animals and always keep a safe distance from all animals.
- Do not litter in the sanctuary, use designated disposal areas.
