Bweza gorilla lodge rushaga is a mid range accommodation located in Bugambira village along the Rushaga- Nkuringo Road in Kisoro near the southern gate of Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park Uganda right at the edge of the forest.
Bweza Gorilla Lodge sits comfortably at the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a primeval forest and lush jungle region in south west Uganda.
This national park is home to wild gorillas, forest elephants and 23 species of bird endemic to the area. Located a 5minute walk from the briefing point for trekking makes the lodge a sought after lodge for gorilla tracking safaris.
There are plenty of activities on offer, which include visit to the Batwa pygmies, mountain biking, guided community walks and forest walks to the Bayenda Falls.
Banana and guava trees cocoon the 5 bedroomed lodge, and in the distance there are views of the forest jungle with its ancient canopy of trees decorating the lofty hills.
The entrance to the lodge is warm and welcoming. Bold colours from indigenous flora greet you upon arrival, leaving a lasting first impression. The atmosphere is personable, and efficient staff ensure you looked after for the duration of your stay.
ACCOMODATION AT BWEZA GORILLA LODGE RUSHAGA BWINDI
The main lodge area houses the dining room, a relaxation lounge, spa treatment room and a quaint nook where the bar is situated.
This remote lodge comprises 5 individual rooms (sleeping 10 in total) each with private wooden balconies overlooking the wilderness. The architecture and decor is comfortable, and all amenities from home are provided. Rooms have solar-powered lighting, en-suite bathroom with hot and cold water and flush toilets.
Each unit is designed to look like stand-alone log cabins that blend in with the surrounding rainforest, ensuring that the lodge does not look out of place in its wild surrounds.
Cobbled paths with wooden bannisters join the well-appointed rooms, each of which have been named after individual gorillas or gorilla tribes. Some of the units come with a deep-set standalone bath and a fireplace.
Bweza Gorilla Lodge Rushaga is child-friendly, however kids are not eligible to trek gorillas. Babysitting facilities are available at Bweza gorilla lodge Rushaga.

Bweza Gorilla Lodge is on the boundary line of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, close to the starting point of trekking to the gorillas in Rushaga sector of Bwindi. The area is in the Kisoro region in south-west Uganda.
Bweza Gorilla Lodge is in a remote area and the journey to paradise is long, but eye-opening and scenic. The quickest route is by air to the Kisoro airstrip.
There are two ways of getting to Bweza Gorilla Lodge in Rushaga by either driving or flying.

How to get to Bweza gorilla lodge in Rushaga Bwindi
By local flight to Kisoro Airstrip
Uganda has domestic airlines which have scheduled flights between Uganda’s major towns and national parks such as Bar Aviation and Aerolink Uganda.
Aerolink Uganda runs daily scheduled flights from Entebbe to Kisoro Airport, departing Entebbe at 07: 00 am to Kisoro.
Transfers from Kisoro airport to Bwindi forest or Bweza gorilla lodge rushaga can be done by your driver guide or by your tour operator.
By road transfer
Bweza gorilla lodge Rushaga can be accessed from either Kigali or Entebbe with Kigali being nearer to Bwindi forest than Entebbe.
From Entebbe you need to travel from Entebbe westwards crossing through the Equator at Kayabwe and proceed through Mbarara onto Kabale. The highway route has clear signposts from Kabale or Kisoro However there is no reason to go all the way to Kisoro town when travelling directly to Rushaga from Kabale town.
Follow the Kabale – Kisoro road and branch off at the 40KM mark at the sign post of Uganda Wildlife Authority for Bwindi Rushaga sector and one of Bweza Gorilla Lodge off the right to Rushaga along the Kabale – Kisoro highway.
Prior to this signpost at 26Km you will observe a signpost on the right directing you to the north side of Bwindi Forest via Ruhija to Buhoma which is 90 Km away.
DRIVING FROM KABALE TO BWEZA GORILLA LODGE RUSHAGA
AT KM 40 leave the road to follow a windy road that will eventually expose wonderful views of the Bwindi Forest.
You will observe a sign post for Bweza Gorilla Lodge at the junction to the Rushaga sector gate. Bweza gorilla lodge is just 1 km from the junction after the river on the road heading from Rubuguri on your way to Kisoro from Rushaga.
The travel time from Kabale to Bweza gorilla lodge in Rushaga is about 2hours.
DRIVING FROM KISORO TO BWEZA GORILLA LODGE RUSHAGA
From Kisoro town, follow the Nkuringo road before branching of on the right to head to Rubuguri towards Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
A signpost for Bweza gorilla lodge Rushaga can be see after crossing Mucha River from Kisoro town. The distance from Kisoro is 39kms and takes 90 minutes to Rushaga.

Rushaga – Kabale 2.5 hours (1 hours of rough road)
Rushaga – Lake Mburo through Kabale, – 6.5 hours (2 hours of rough road)
Rushaga – Ishasha via Ruhija (8 hour much of which will be very rough and challenging driving)
Rushaga – Queen Elizabeth National Park (Mweya sector) via Ishaka, Kabale and Rubuguri – 9 hours (1 hour of rough road)
Rushaga – Kigali via either Cyanika or Katuna borders – 5.5 hour drive
Entebbe Airport – Rushaga 10 hour drive
