Day by Day Itinerary: 

DAY 1:  AIR TRANSFER FROM ENTEBBE TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST.

You will be met by a Bujuku Eco Tours representative at Entebbe International Airport and transferred for your domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable forest.

The flight from Entebbe to Kihihi Airstrip, Kanungu takes 1 hour 45 minutes on a scheduled domestic flight. Scheduled flights move from Entebbe to Murchsion falls national park, Kasese Airstrip, Mweya in Queen Elizabeth national park and then Kihihi or Kisoro. Thereafter your will be transferred by our guide driver in our SUV or Land Cruiser to your hotel in Buhoma, Bwindi impenetrable forest. This drive from Kihihi Airstrip to Buhoma takes 1.5 hours.

DAY 2: BWINDI GORILLA TREKKING AND COMMUNITY WALK IN BUHOMA BWINDI

Have an early morning breakfast at 6:30am. Proceed to the park headquarters by 7.30am for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority park rangers in Buhoma, Bwindi .

Your guide driver will make sure you carry along the necessary items such as a rain jacket, enough drinking water, packed lunch, snacks, long trousers, insect repellant, and ankle high hiking boots during gorilla trekking in Bwindi.

The park wardens will allocate you different gorilla families which you will track. Besides Gorillas, animals such as antelopes, bush pigs, chimpanzees, baboons, elephants can be seen. Also over 350 bird species are a common sighting in this park.

All set, you will begin the walk deep in the thick forest in search for these gentle giants. This is an exhilarating experience that you should never miss in your lifetime getting to see the mountain gorillas in the wild. When you finally get to meet the mountain gorillas you are allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Photos are allowed with no flash photography. Minimum 5 meters distance must be kept.

The trekking may take between 2 and 8 hours but it’s well worth the effort.

After trekking the mountains gorillas, you will return to your lodge for a hot lunch and some rest.

Spend the afternoon on a community walk which gives an opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi live. It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. You can visit Ride 4 A Woman a charitable organization in Buhoma set up to support women affected by HIV, poverty and domestic violence. They teach them skills to empower and give them hope.

You will see several souvenir shops, schools, churches and drinking joints. Other options includes taking the trails to see the stunning waterfalls. You can choose to have a birding expedition in the forest in addition to various primates.

DAY 3: DEPARTURE AND FLIGHT BACK TO ENTEBBE

You will have an early morning breakfast enjoying the breathtaking sunrise as it comes out through the misty weather over the thick forests.

Thereafter, your Bujuku Eco Tours safari guide driver will transfer you to Kihihi Airstrip for your departure flight to Entebbe. Your will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala or to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
