Kyambura Gorge
Kyambura Gorge is an 11 Km gorge extending from the Kazinga channel to Kyambura on the north-eastern part of Queen Elizabeth National park. The gorge is 27 meters deep forming a V-shaped valley.
It constitutes the Kyambura Game Reserve which forms part of the Queen Elizabeth Protected Area (QEPA).
The Gorge is a water source for many animals with a river draining to the marshy area around Lake George surrounded by savanna. The Gorge is famously noted for its high concentration of primate life with the main activity taking place being Chimpanzee tracking , bird watching and nature walks.

The gorge is split by Kyambura river which is home to several hippos, snakes and provides water to elephants and buffaloes which can be seen occasionally in the gorge with several tracks leading to the gorge from Queen Elizabeth national park.
The Kyambura Gorge view point located 2 Km off the Katunguru-Ishaka high way in the Kyambura area has one of the best views in Queen Elizabeth national park from the lushy green vegetation to the savanna in the low lands of the savanna park.
The Kyambura Escarpment has several tourist lodges and accommodation facilities as it’s located on the edge of Queen Elizabeth national park a popular tourist destination in Uganda famous for the tree climbing lions and the Mweya peninsula with the the famous Kazinga channel.
