Moreover, Valentine’s Day was named after the Saint Valentine, who is said to have died all because of love. It started as a Christian feast day honouring a martyr named Valentine, and through later folk traditions it has also become a significant cultural, religious and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world. Valentine’s Day celebrations involved exchanging gifts like flowers, cards, and many more.

Places where to Spend Valentine’s Day In Uganda
Lake mutanda
Lake Mutanda is a small, freshwater lake in the far southwest of Uganda with 15 islands covered in fresh green vegetation, close to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. It is drained by the Rutshuru River, flowing northward to Lake Edward. Lake Mutanda is a 30-minute drive from the centre of Kisoro.
Lake mutanda has an altitude of 1,800m, it is a great place to hike, and it offers breath-taking views of The Virunga Mountains. The lake covers an area of 29 square kilometers with a maximum depth of 56meters. Visitors on their valentine vacation can enjoy; a calm boat cruise while viewing the beautiful Virunga mountains and watching bird species, touring the islands on lake mutanda including mutanda island to interact with the local residents, go for mountain biking and many more activities.

Visitors can engage in different activities on their vacation to Bwindi impenetrable national park on valentine’s day. Some of these activities include; gorilla trekking, gorilla habituation, nature walks, bird watching, Batwa visits, bakiga cultural dances and many other activites. In this park to track gorillas, travellers need to acquire a gorilla trekking permit which costs about 800 USD for foreign non-residents, 700 USD for foreign residents,500 USD for Rest of African residents, and 300,000 UGX for East African residents.
Lake Mburo National Park
This is the smallest savannah national park situated in western Uganda. it is the only national park closest to Kampala the capital city of Uganda at a distance of 230km. In lake mburo national park, there are several activities that travellers on their Valentine holidays can engage in. Some of the activities that travelers can engage in are; game drives cycling, quad biking, boat cruises, community visits, camping, and many others.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
This one of the popular destinations in Uganda that travelers on their safaris usually engage in. It is the second largest savannah park in Uganda with several activities that travelers can engage in during the safaris. Activities for travelers to engage in the safari include game drives, boat cruises, chimpanzee tracking, nature walks, and many others. Sesse island
The sesse island are among the 84 islands located within the northwestern part of Lake Victoria which is in central Uganda. Kibale National Park
Kibale National Park is home to several chimpanzee species that travelers can encounter on their safaris. It is located within the western part of Uganda. Chimpanzees are also the large primates that share about 98% of the DNA with man. The available chimpanzees for tourism are usually first habituated for them to get used to human being and this process takes about 2 years.
In this park, there are several activities like chimpanzee tracking, chimpanzee habituation, nature walks, and bird watching and others. To see these chimpanzees, travelers are supposed to acquire a chimpanzee permit and the cost of the permit is 250 USD for foreign non-residents, 200 USD for foreign residents, and 180000 UGX for East African residents.
Jinja City
This is one of the adventure cities that is located in eastern Uganda. This city has several destinations that travelers engage in during the safaris and some of the destinations include the railway museum, the source of the Nile, Mabira forest. Some of the activities that travelers can engage in this city include boat cruises, bungee jumping, nature walks, and many others.
